City Pets is innovative pet store that prides itself on a vast amount of dry/live good selection. We strive to be leaders in providing quality products at a great price. When you come to City Pets, its an unique experience no other store can provide. We have a large selection of freshwater fish, saltwater fish, corals, birds, and much more. There are always new shipments of livestock each week. We usually receive at least eight shipments of fish a week from throughout the world. We do offer custom order tanks and products. We welcome you to drop by and just check us out. How we came about: City Pets came about in 1997, after 14 years of service as Fish-N-Pet. The name change was due to the fact that others stores were popping up in the Houston area using the name Fish-N-Pet and claiming that we were the same store or family trying to build there clientele. The store started in 1984 with a 1000 sq. ft., but there was room to grow after a short time. Therefore we expanded by leasing out the next door to 2400 sq. ft. Then, we expanded again and leased the store on the other side, and became a 4000 sq. ft. pet store. After rising rent costs, we were fortunate to be able to build our own building and create a new name store called City Pets. What we offer: an unique pet store that sells pet supplies for dogs, cats, fish, birds, small animals, reptiles, and ponds. Livestock that we carry are fish, birds, rabbits, hamsters, iguanas, and corals. We DO NOT sell dogs or cats. Store Products

Fish

We boast one of the largest selections of both fresh & salt water fish, not just in Houston and the Great State of Texas, but in the South Central United States! We have regular customers from around Texas & even from Louisiana. We have shipments arriving almost daily.

Fresh Water Species:

We routinely stock dozens of species/varieties of livebearers, barbs, tetras, loaches, catfish, cichlids, goldfish, koi, rarely seen exotics and many more.

Salt Water Species:

Our constantly updated selection often includes a variety of species of damsels, clownfish, butterflies, angels, sharks, and unique specimens.

Our wide array of invertebrates include corals, anemones, clams, crustaceans and many more. We also feature many varieties of live aquarium & pond plants.

Birds

City Pets has developed a strong reputation as a favorite source for hand fed parrots & a large selection of small cage birds including parakeets, canaries, finches, cockatiels, lovebirds, & doves.

Mammals

The kids love to visit City Pets with our hands on exhibits of bunnies & guinea pigs. They also love the dwarf & teddy bear hamsters.  Our selection of colorful fancy mice & rats is large as well.

Reptiles

We routinely feature a variety of lizards including iguanas, bearded dragons & geckoes.  Your popular PacMan & African clawed frogs can be found here as well.

Aquariums

City Pets has been the starting place for many aquarists.  We feature a very broad selections of fish bowls & aquarium tanks, from 1 pint to 220 gallons! We know he fish's home is the starting point of any hobby, so we price our tanks very competitively to help people get a great start.

Aquarium Equipment

We offer many choices in external & internal filters, air  & power head pumps, wet dry sumps, heaters, and a variety of lighting technology including incandescent, fluorescent, metal halide & LED methods.  We have any filtration media & connections you will ever need.

Décor

City Pets has a broad selection of ornaments including natural stone, driftwood, simulated plants, & quirky plastic/ceramic ornaments.

Food Products

We have a wide selection of flake, pellet, and granule, freeze-dried, frozen & live foods for your fish.  Bags of fresh seed & prepared foods for your birds, mammals, & reptiles are here too.

We have not forgotten your companion animals as well.  We feature several popular national & regional brands of dog/cat foods, as well as the gear, toys and health/beauty products you demand to keep your pets healthy & presentable.
